Project Events
The SUPPORT project is due to organise at least one seminar event for each year of the project. To date the project has organised three events to support the development of EU actions on mental health.
In August 2006 the project organised an expert seminar ‘Achieving Mental Health in the European Workplace’, an issue that had policy implications both within and outwith the Public Health policy area. The seminar set out to promote discussion, drawing on a range of bodies of expertise and experience drawing together experts in the field such as the International Labour Office (ILO) and World Health Organisation (WHO), The European Commission, business, academic and corporate social responsibility interests. The primary objective of this event was to open dialogue with key actors in the field of wellbeing at work, to ask questions and explore options without prejudice.
In November 2007, SUPPORT held a similar expert seminar discussing mental health in schools. The event was organised with DG-SANCO and DG-EAC in support of policy development in both fields.
In December 2007, the project facilitated a Projects Summit, bringing together over twenty mental health projects from different policy areas to discuss ways in which project outcomes could contribute to policy development.
