Workshop of European NGOs Held
SUPPORT facilitated a Workshop on January 29th and 30th, to enable NGOs to engage with the implementation of the European pact on Mental Health and Well-Being.
European level NGOs were invited to take part in the meeting, and more than 30 participants discussed each of the five thematic areas of the Pact.
The meeting brought together NGOs representing particular groups, NGO umbrella organisations and NGO professional organisations. There were opportunities to hear proposed actions under the Pact in each of the five thematic areas covered. Most importantly thought, NGOs were invited to contribute examples of practice from their own wide experience of other organisations and sectors.
The objectives of the workshop were:
- To build awareness of the European pact for Mental Health and Well-being amongst NGO stakeholders operating at a European level.
- To allow NGOs to contribute examples of work they have been involved with to a mapping exercise of good practices.
- To enable NGOs to have an input to the planning and preparation of future EU level activities on mental health.
