Impact assessments in improving population health and contributing to the objectives of the Lisbon Strategy
The final report for this project, led by STAKES, is now available.
The goal of this project was to show the broad benefits of using all available measures across policies for the improvement and protection of Europeans’ health, and to stimulate the parallel development and implementation of such measures in the EU and its Member States.
The purpose was to clarify and concretise the links between policy decisions, impacts on health determinants, health outcomes and their distribution, and demonstrate that in-depth health impact assessment may contribute to the broad social and economic objectives of the EU.
Amongst others, one of the key outcomes of this project was the high level Presidency Conference on Health In All Policies, held in Kuopio, Finland as part of the Finnish Presidency.
