European Handbook on Equality Data

This handbook was created by the Finnish Ministry of Labour with support from the European Commission.  Its objective is to give advice on how to build knowledge bases in the field of equality and discrimination.

The booklet and accompanying data focuses on why and what kind of data is necessary in order to  comply with EU legislation supporting equal rights.  It also:

  • introduces a theoretical, social and legal background to equality and discrimination,
  • pin-points major areas of concern in this field and,
  • explains methods of processing and collecting data.
