DG EAC has launched a new EU wide consultation to help determine the direction of EU youth policy in the coming years. The consultation seeks to answer questions about the main challenges or opportunities which will have the most direct impact on young people. The questionnaire will cover issues regarding education and informal learning, employment, discrimination, social integration and voluntary activities of young people. There is clearly an opportunity to make the case for increased visibility of mental health and well-being.

A Flash Eurobarometer survey on the Mental Health and Wellbeing of Children and Young People is being undertaken during September 2008. It is planned to publish outcomes from this survey on World Mental Health Day - 10th October 2008.
