Mental Capital and Wellbeing: Making the most of ourselves in the 21st Century – A Report
The report, produced in October 2008 by the Foresight Project on Mental Capital and Wellbeing, presents the findings for “Mental capital through life”. It covers how to optimize mental capital through life for the population in the future, and concludes by assessing the policy implications. It includes background information taken from a number of reviews which were commissioned by the Project.
The objective for the Project was to generate a vision for the size and nature of future challenges associated with mental capital and wellbeing, and to assess how the situation might change over the next twenty years, using the baseline assumption that existing policies and expenditure remain unchanged. To make this analysis tractable, the work was divided into five broad areas:
- Mental capital through life
- Learning through life
- Mental health
- Wellbeing and work, and
- Learning difficulties
