The Inside Story: The Impact of Depression on Daily Life

 

In February 2008 Depression Alliance undertook a survey of their membership for the purpose of investigating the impact of depression on their work and daily lives which produced information not readily obtained elsewhere.

The survey was designed to investigate a range of issues including work, quality of sleep, the distress caused by depression and the impact of depresson on quality of life and daily activities.

  • 1,200 copies of the 'Inside Story' survey were circulted to members
  • 288 were returned and were usable
  • of these, 96.4% of the respondents had been diagnosed at some time with depression, and
  • over two thirds (71.%) of them were female. 

The developmement of this survey report from Depression Alliance was undertaken in partnership with and funded by Servier Laboratories Limited.
